What is Sonata?
A drug that is a sedative/hypnotic mainly used for treatment of insomnia.
DIRECTIONS:
Tablet - Comes as tablet to take by mouth. Do not split, chew or crush them. The tablets and capsules should be swallowed whole and taken with a full glass of water.
Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take sonata exactly as directed. Do not take sonata unless you will be able to sleep for at least 4 hours after taking the dose.
STORAGE:
- Keep it in its tightly closed container.
- Keep it out of reach of children.
- Store the capsules and tablets at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).
- Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.
WARNING:
Before taking Sonata, Advice your Doctor and Pharmacist if you have these following
- If allergic to sonata or any other drugs.
- If you are taking prescription and nonprescription medications.
- If you have or have ever had kidney or liver disease, a history of alcohol or drug abuse or depression, asthma, breathing problems or allergies.
- If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or are breast-feeding.
- If you become pregnant while taking sonata, advice your doctor.
- If you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking sonata.
- Avoid driving or operating any machinery while the drug is in effect.
- Avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this medication.
